My adventures at Brandeis' International Business School (and Waseda University in Tokyo)
A running commentary on my life while I was in business school and doing my semester abroad in Japan. I started the program at Brandeis' International Business School in September of 2005 and graduated in May 2007. I am currently in Japan attending Waseda University in Tokyo for my exchange semester.

What did you use it for and how did you like it. Funny translated name it is. Wooden ears are what we call here.
I never used it for anything, I just saw the picture and thought it was funny.
What are they, some type of candy or food?
Hi, Jeff, it is food definitely. It is somewhat like mushrooms that grow on tree stumps or pieces of wood. It looks like an human ear and that's how the name of "wooden ear" was derived from. People usually slice it up and mix it with other ingredients such as meat and vegetables in stir fries or soup. Have you had hot and sour soup? If you look very closely, there usually are thin slices of this in it. Thanks for the email.
